Standing in the parking lot of the White Rock Creek Trail Head, a group of cyclists were talking about cycling events of the past. Tour Dallas was mentioned. One cyclist mentioned that he wanted to try and bring back the ride – but didn’t have the right contact at the American Airlines Center. Another cyclist said he knew just who to call.
As a result of that chance meeting, Dallas now has a cycling event for the casual cyclist. A leisurely ride around the streets and sites of downtown, White Rock Lake and Turtle Creek offers you a chance to really enjoy the springtime in Dallas. Offering routes of 8, 20 and 30 miles, Tour Dallas is an event for cyclists young and old. To get more information just click here.
Since 2003, Tour Dallas has grown into the largest cycling event in the DFW metroplex, with 3,600 cyclists participating in 2008.
Tour Dallas 2009 will begin a NEW era, with the start/finish moving to Dallas City Hall. To get all the info on Tour Dallas, click here.
